FML is committed to the education of architects through presentations to AIA member firms across the country.  We are approved AIA/CES providers, helping with the specifying of quartersawn hardwoods.

When Architects specify projects requiring our quartersawn hardwoods, we want those projects to reflect the beauty of the original design. We will partner with both the architects and our distributors to make sure that the required hardwoods are available when demanded by the project timeline.

The ultimate success of a construction project that includes quartersawn hardwood depends upon an understanding of the strengths, beauty, and limitations of the lumber selected. Because quartersawn hardwoods differ from plain sawn hardwoods in available widths and lengths, it is important for architects to understand these differences when specifying project requirements.

Regardless of these differences, specifying the right quartersawn hardwoods for projects will yield exceptionally beautiful results of which both the architect and client can be proud.
