FML's logistics department arranges shipments through alliances with the top local and national carriers and international freight forwarders. The goal of the logistics department is to get lumber to the customer by truck, train, plane or ocean container expeditiously and economically.
We excel in global distribution because:
- FML is located near railyards in Indianapolis, Columbus (OH), Louisville, and Cincinnati.
- FML's loading facility provides a clean, enclosed space for truck and container loading, assuring a dry product.
- All lumber is double end trimmed and most bundles are single length resulting in neat packaging for storage and resale.
- FML's shipping department is trained to load trucks and containers carefully and efficiently.
- With our on-site truck scale, we load the maximum footage allowed within legal weight restrictions.
- All bundles loaded onto containers are prepared with export blocks and three evenly spaced 1-1/2" bands for ease of transport and unloading to ensure that lumber is received in the very best condition.
- FML offers phyto sanitary certification on site with prompt completion.
